Under the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer, the Operating Room Manager is responsible for supervising and assisting in the daily clinical management for the unit(s) of the assigned shift to accomplish specific unit/department objectives. This role involves maintaining quality services, providing clinical resources and support for staff, identifying and resolving unit operational problems, coordinating patient placement, and fostering a positive work environment. The manager also assesses and arranges staffing, participates in employee hiring and evaluation, and ensures the availability of unit supplies. Collaboration with staff, management, physicians, and other departments is crucial for patient and quality care. The role includes participation in hospital committees, quality improvement initiatives, and staying current with professional developments. Supervisory duties, staff education, coaching, and immediate resolution of patient incidents are also key aspects of this position.
