About The Position

Regions Hospital is seeking an Operating Room Coordinator to work collaboratively with surgical staff to coordinate care for surgical patients and communicate with patients and families. The position requires competence in using complex, specialized operating room and other computer systems, excellent telephone etiquette, and strong communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-service focus. Specific responsibility areas will be assigned most of the time, though the coordinator may be assigned to cover all areas as directed. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• Three years of computer or data-entry experience.
• Competence in using complex, specialized operating room and other computer systems.
• Excellent telephone etiquette.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-service focus.

• Medical or surgical background preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate care for surgical patients in collaboration with surgical staff.
• Communicate with patients and families.
• Cover assigned areas and, as directed, other areas.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
