About The Position

The Operating Room Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) supports the surgical team by preparing instruments and the sterile field, assisting with patient preparation, and providing instruments and supplies during surgery. The role may also involve tracking surgical materials, operating equipment, and preparing specimens for laboratory analysis. Clinic duties may include rooming patients, taking vital signs, handling orders, and routing phone calls. Local candidates are required. The position is at Franciscan Orthopedic Surgery Center. Full-time, part-time, and PRN positions are listed, with no weekends or holidays.

Requirements

Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification is required.
High school diploma or GED is required.

Nice To Haves

One year of surgical experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Arrange instrument trays and prepare sterile drapes and solutions.
Help the surgical team put on caps, gowns, and gloves.
Assist with patient preparation as needed.
Pass instruments to surgeons and surgical assistants.
May assist with sponge, needle, and other supply counts to track materials used in surgery.
May operate suction, diagnostic, and sterilizing equipment.
Package specimens for laboratory analysis.
Clinic duties may include rooming patients, taking vital signs, handling orders, and routing phone calls.
