About The Position

This role is for an Operating Room Attendant in the North Tower at Royal Oak Hospital. The position supports the Operating Room Attendant Supervisor by performing essential duties related to room turnover, patient support, linen and waste management, supply and equipment maintenance, and lab/blood bank support. The goal is to provide the highest quality of service efficiently, effectively, and compassionately.

Requirements

• High School Diploma Required

• Six months to one year prior OR assistant experience is Preferred

Responsibilities

• Turnover the OR room, wipe all the equipment down in the OR room, mop the floors.
• Restock supplies and housekeeping carts.
• Pick up patient beds for the surgeries of the day.
• Makes runs to the Lab and Blood Bank when requested by the OR room.
• Deliver and disinfect case carts; return dirty carts to CPD.
• Dock Neptunes for cleaning.
• Transport dirty scopes and biohazard bins between Cysto and CPD.
• Clean and reset OR rooms between cases (wipe equipment, mop floors).
• Assist with patient transfers post-surgery.
• Set up rooms with equipment for upcoming procedures.
• Dispose of dirty linen and garbage properly.
• Restock clean linen and replace soiled bags in OR cores.
• Restock general supplies (foam, gloves, masks, specimen cups).
• Maintain housekeeping carts, mops, buckets, and Formalin.
• Clean and organize storage areas and equipment.
• Report broken equipment to appropriate personnel.
• Make runs to Lab and Blood Bank as needed.
• Participate in Massive Blood Transfusion Protocol when required.
