About The Position

In the operating room, timeliness, cleanliness, and orderliness are essential. Legacy Meridian Park Medical Center is the South Metro area’s full-service medical center, with the friendly feel of a community hospital and the skill and services of a much larger medical center. Among our specialties: stroke, chest pain, minimally invasive and robotic surgery, cancer care and orthopedic and total joint surgery. Plus, a birth center and breast health center.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must have the ability to give and receive verbal and written instructions in English and perform basic computations.
  • Medical terminology desirable.
  • Must be able to work well with other team members.
  • Must be able to perform duties independently with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to quickly perform a variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be willing and able to work alternate shifts (including weekends) and overtime to meet the demands and needs of patient care and the department.
  • Current BLS for Provider certification from the American Heart Association required.

Nice To Haves

  • One year previous medical experience in an acute care setting preferred.
  • This could include experience as a Surgical Services Aide, OR Assistant, Certified Nursing Assistant, central sterile tech, or other medical experience.
  • CNA or other clinical/surgical certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support nursing staff as part of the surgical team to ensure safe and efficient patient care.
  • Transport blood, specimens, and other materials within Surgical Services.
  • Perform housekeeping duties to maintain cleanliness in operating rooms and surrounding areas.
  • Stock supplies and maintain overall orderliness of assigned department spaces.
  • Assist with patient transportation as needed.
  • Complete additional errands and support tasks as assigned to facilitate smooth departmental operations.
