About The Position

The ORA is responsible for cleaning and terminal cleaning of the OR, PACU, and other assigned locations. This position is an integral part to support the model of care for inpatients and outpatients undergoing surgical procedures. The ORA is expected to assist with the daily operational flow to aide and assist the OR team in the delivery of patient care and efficiency of the unit. Functions under the supervision of the ORA Supervisor and OR leadership.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma General Required
  • GED General Required
  • Minimum 1 year experience in environmental services

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma and other continuous process and performance methodologies
  • Previous experience working in an Operational Excellence (OpEx), Performance Improvement, Quality, or related department in a healthcare setting

Responsibilities

  • Performs general and terminal cleaning in the OR and other assigned areas daily, between procedures, and when required due to protocols of organization and IC.
  • Maintains a clean and orderly environment in the OR.
  • Assists with OR procedures by gathering appropriate equipment and positioning devices required.
  • Responsible for reporting equipment and positioning devices that are in need of repair.
  • Orders and stocks OR suites and general areas with linens and supplies.
  • Restocks various specialty carts as assigned, if trained.
  • Transports carts, instruments, supplies and equipment to various departments as assigned.
  • Transports blood/blood products, specimens, and patients as directed.
  • Adheres to attendance policy and OR attire policy.
  • Maintains annual training requirements.
  • Accepts direction.
  • Follows written and verbal instructions promptly and accurately.
