Operating Room Assistant I
About The Position
Identifies and transports patients to, from, and within the OR Suite. Assists with patient positioning, which includes holding extremities during surgical prep and turning patients onto the surgical table/frame. Assists nursing staff with retrieving and returning equipment, supplies, and implants. Assembles and stamps paperwork, and prepares equipment such as a fracture table. Cleans the OR suite according to Policy and Procedure between cases and is responsible for terminal cleaning of the suite. Transports specimens, lab work, and patient beds to and from the OR. Performs shave prep of patients.
Requirements
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- High school diploma (or equivalent) or higher
- Less than 2 years of experience
- No certification
