About The Position

The Operating Expense Accountant will be responsible for reviewing and processing invoices, preparing payment batches, and reconciling operational expense accounts. This role involves managing schedules for prepaid and accrued expenses, tracking fixed assets, and monitoring inventory. The accountant will also perform monthly, quarterly, and annual closing procedures, prepare financial statements, and analyze spending trends to identify cost-saving opportunities. The position may also involve other special projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be eligible to work in the US
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business related fields – Finance, Economics, or Statistics preferred. (Candidate’s equivalent experience and accounting principle knowledge may be considered instead of the degree requirement.)
  • 1-3 years’ experience in an applicable field is required. H Mart has an extensive training program and candidates with the equivalent office experience will be considered.
  • General understanding of accounting processes and functions
  • Excellent communication skill and ability to work in a cross functional team environment
  • Working knowledge of Excel and Word
  • Experience with computerized accounting systems (SAP R3 , S4 HANA Public Cloud ERP System experience a plus)
  • Must speak, read and write Korean /Basic English comprehension required.

Responsibilities

  • Review and process invoices and related cover sheets from various departments and input all data in accounting system (SAP R3)
  • Preparing operational expenditure payment batch
  • Reviewing and verifying expense reports for various departments to ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and company policies
  • Reconciling operational expense accounts to ensure accuracy and identify any discrepancies
  • Managing prepaid expense, accrued expense and accrued account schedule
  • Managing and tracking corporate fixed asset with depreciation schedule
  • Managing, monitoring and reconciling operational support inventory
  • Performing monthly, quarterly, and annual closing
  • Preparing and analyzing financial statements related to operation expenses, including balance sheets and income statements
  • Analyze spending trends and variances to identify areas for cost reduction or improvement
  • Other special projects as assigned.
