About The Position

We are seeking a skilled Operating Engineer to join our facilities management team. The Operating Engineer will be responsible for operating, maintaining, and repairing building mechanical systems to ensure optimal performance, energy efficiency, and occupant comfort.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required
Valid Operating Engineer license or stationary engineer license as required by local jurisdiction.
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in building operations or facilities maintenance.
Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, building automation systems, electrical systems, and plumbing.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

technical certification or associate degree in building operations, mechanical systems, or related field preferred.
Universal EPA certification (Type I, II, III).
Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
Knowledge of LEED or other sustainability certification programs.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

Operate, monitor, and maintain HVAC systems, boilers, chillers, cooling towers, air handlers, and related mechanical equipment.
Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on building systems including electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and life safety systems.
Monitor and adjust building automation systems (BAS) to optimize energy efficiency and maintain environmental conditions within specified parameters.
Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues promptly to minimize downtime.
Perform emergency repairs as needed and respond to after-hours service calls when required.
Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for specialized repairs and maintenance activities.
Ensure all operations comply with applicable codes, regulations, and safety standards including OSHA requirements.
Maintain accurate logs, records, and documentation of all maintenance activities, equipment performance, and energy consumption.
Conduct regular safety inspections and implement corrective actions as necessary.
Monitor energy consumption and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements.
Assist in implementing energy conservation initiatives and sustainability programs.
