About The Position

JLL is seeking a Critical Infrastructure / Operating Engineer to support a mission-critical financial services environment, including a client trading floor and associated office space. This role is responsible for maintaining 100% uptime through operation, maintenance, and repair of building systems, along with monitoring performance and managing vendor activities. The position requires a high school diploma or GED, membership in good standing with Local 94, and specific certifications including B-28 Supervision of Stationary Energy Storage Systems, Universal CFC EPA Certification, S-12, S-13, S-14 Sprinkler/Standpipe Certifications, and Q-01 or Q-99 Refrigerating System Operating Engineer License. A minimum of 3+ years of relevant experience in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, or building maintenance is required, along with the ability to troubleshoot and repair building infrastructure systems independently, read various technical drawings, and proficiency in Microsoft Office. Strong communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills are essential. The role involves supporting a mission-critical trading floor environment with zero tolerance for downtime and requires availability for after-hours work and emergency response. Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 50 lbs and frequent physical activities such as walking, climbing, bending, kneeling, and lifting.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED (technical training preferred)
  • Member in good standing of Local 94

  • Ability to read HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and architectural drawings

  • Available for after-hours work and emergency response per client requirements
  • Maintain professionalism and composure during high-pressure situations
  • Follow all safety protocols including LOTO, hot work, and impairment procedures

  • Frequent walking, climbing ladders/stairs, bending, kneeling, and lifting
  • Ability to inspect machinery and respond to visual/auditory alarms
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Operate, monitor, and maintain electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, and building systems
  • Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs (self-perform where applicable)
  • Conduct routine rounds, testing, and system performance analysis
  • Assist with and follow MOPs, SOPs, and procedures for critical equipment
  • Monitor and respond to system alarms and emergencies
  • Oversee vendors and contractors performing OEM maintenance and repairs
  • Maintain logs, drawings, and system documentation
  • Support day-to-day facility operations and client needs
  • Maintain HVAC and associated equipment, including cleaning, inspecting, calibrating, and parts replacement
  • Perform maintenance on fire/life safety, plumbing, structural, and control systems
  • Review service requests to identify and resolve recurring issues
  • Evaluate vendor performance, pricing, and quality of work
  • Ensure accurate deliveries and maintain inventory of tools and materials
  • Follow proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant work environment
