About The Position

As a Stationary Engineer with JLL, you'll play a critical role in maintaining the operational excellence of our facility's infrastructure. You'll be responsible for ensuring that all mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, fire safety, and control systems perform at optimal levels while meeting applicable safety and quality standards. This position combines hands-on technical expertise with quality oversight, requiring you to manage preventative maintenance programs, monitor contractor work, and respond to facility needs. Your work directly supports JLL's commitment to providing safe, efficient, and reliable building operations that create exceptional experiences for our clients and building occupants.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent with two years of trades schooling in electrical system design, refrigeration, and HVAC.
  • Universal Technician Certification for CFCs (or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment).
  • Knowledge of central plant operations and equipment including chillers, cooling towers, and pump systems.
  • Ability to analyze system operations, diagnose problems/malfunctions, and implement corrective action.
  • Physical capability to lift up to 40 lbs, walk/stand for extended periods, and work in inclement weather conditions.
  • Working knowledge of computer applications including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Availability for call-in work and flexible scheduling as operational needs require.

Nice To Haves

  • Stationary Engineer License (Level 1, 2, or 3).
  • Previous experience with facility services, purchasing, and inventory control.
  • Experience evaluating vendors and suppliers for quality and competitive pricing.
  • Familiarity with building automation and control systems.
  • Previous experience in commercial or institutional facility maintenance environments.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance, monitoring, and repairs on HVAC systems, mechanical equipment, plumbing, structural components, furniture, and fire/life safety systems to maintain optimal performance levels.
  • Conduct cleaning, inspection, calibration, and parts replacement on central plant equipment including chillers, cooling towers, and various pump systems.
  • Review daily, weekly, and monthly service request summaries to identify and resolve recurrent operational problems, ensuring continuous improvement.
  • Record equipment readings and make necessary adjustments to ensure proper operation while maintaining accurate documentation.
  • Monitor and evaluate outside contractors' work quality and pricing, verify delivery accuracy for count and pricing, and manage inventory control.
  • Perform daily water treatment readings and periodic tool and instrument inventory checks.
  • Ensure compliance with hazardous materials policies for safe storage, usage, and disposal while maintaining a clean and safe workplace.
