About The Position

Lakeside Companies is seeking an experienced golf and hospitality operator to serve as their ownership representative for their Golf Course, Pro Shop, and Restaurant in the Coeur d’Alene area. This is a high-level role with significant autonomy and accountability, focusing on financial performance, brand standards, value creation, and direct partnership with executive leadership. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in running golf operations, managing multiple hospitality concepts, and building scalable operating systems. This position offers the opportunity for growth into multi-asset oversight as the company expands.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of progressive operations or general management in golf, hospitality, F&B, or multi-concept retail with direct P&L ownership.
  • 3+ years of accountability for EBITDA, NOI, or operating margin.
  • Demonstrated experience managing operations through managers, setting standards, building systems, and holding teams accountable.
  • Experience reporting to or working alongside ownership, a board, or a family office environment.
  • Ability to build and manage multi-line operating budgets and rolling forecasts independently.
  • Proficiency in P&L, COGS, labor reporting, and inventory reconciliation.
  • Experience developing KPI dashboards and structured reporting for ownership visibility.
  • Experience with capital planning, ROI analysis, and investment recommendations.
  • Ability to design and implement scalable operating systems.
  • Experience with vendor management, contract negotiation, and procurement strategy.
  • Knowledge of pro shop retail: assortment, pricing, and inventory turn.
  • Understanding of seasonal golf market dynamics in a northern climate.
  • Ability to develop manager-level talent through coaching, feedback, and goal-setting.
  • Skill in distilling operational complexity into clear ownership-level reporting.
  • Ability to represent ownership professionally in guest, community, and vendor settings.
  • Ability to operate autonomously while staying tightly aligned with leadership.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, Finance, or related field (required).
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record (multi-site travel required).
  • Ability to obtain Idaho responsible alcohol service certification upon hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Golf course operations experience at the GM, Director, or ownership-representative level is strongly preferred and will be weighted heavily.
  • MBA or equivalent graduate business education preferred, particularly for candidates bridging operations and financial performance.
  • In lieu of degree: 10+ years of directly relevant multi-unit golf or hospitality operations with demonstrated financial ownership will be considered.
  • PGA membership, CMAA certification, or equivalent hospitality credential is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Own financial performance, including revenue, margin, and EBITDA/NOI across golf, restaurant, pro shop, and F&B operations.
  • Manage annual operating budgets and rolling forecasts for each asset.
  • Identify and implement opportunities in pricing, product mix, merchandising, and cost control.
  • Improve F&B margin through vendor strategy, menu optimization, and inventory discipline.
  • Enhance pro shop retail margin through assortment, pricing strategy, and inventory turn management.
  • Evaluate, prioritize, and recommend capital improvements.
  • Oversee operations through management teams, ensuring service standards, operational consistency, and KPI accountability.
  • Establish structured reporting rhythms: daily snapshots, weekly dashboards, and monthly performance reviews.
  • Develop staffing strategies, hiring standards, and leadership development for managers.
  • Implement scalable operating systems across F&B and retail.
  • Maintain brand standards across restaurant and pro shop environments.
  • Manage online reputation and guest feedback systems.
  • Develop seasonal promotions and event programming to enhance the golf experience.
  • Oversee the full guest journey.
  • Ensure facility condition, manage capital planning, and implement preventative maintenance strategies.
  • Optimize seasonal demand specific to the Coeur d’Alene market.
  • Align golf course operations with the broader guest and community experience.
