Responsibilities include decision-making within defined parameters, immediate issue resolution, short-term planning, and supporting senior staff in long-term planning and data analysis. The role involves engine operability analysis, presenting findings, and contributing to business strategy for Engine Operability. Operability is a cross-functional engineering discipline balancing business and technical needs to deliver quality products meeting customer and regulatory requirements. It encompasses system requirement identification, design concept creation, trade studies, design selection, implementation, and verification from design to production to operation. As a Propulsion Operability Engineer, you will be part of the Aerothermal systems design team, supporting next-generation military engine architectures and current products. The role focuses on assessing and predicting engine stability and operational capability across all flight regimes, impacting the quality of work for yourself and the team, with flexibility in task execution based on changing work situations. Responsible for departmental operations planning/execution or is focused on execution of professional activities within a technical discipline. Functions with some autonomy but guided by established policies or review of end results. The job allows modification of procedures and practices covering work as long as the end results meet standards of acceptability (quality, volume, timeliness etc.).
