Black Canyon Consulting (BCC) is seeking an OpenShift/Kubernetes Engineer to join its systems team supporting application developers and operations at the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI), part of the National Library of Medicine (NLM) at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). The role supports NCBI’s Systems & DevOps team, which operates infrastructure for NCBI applications and provides scalable solutions for development, deployment, and operations across teams, languages, cloud environments, and on-premises environments. The engineer will help internal developers transition legacy software development and deployment to NCBI’s modern DevOps platform, which is based on GitLab and Kubernetes. A central requirement is in-depth experience building and maintaining Red Hat OpenShift clusters; experience merely using OpenShift is not sufficient. The role also provides on-call support to NCBI’s internal developers and other staff. This is a full-time opportunity at NCBI in Bethesda, Maryland, and/or with remote work. NCBI offers flexible working hours, remote options, training courses, conference attendance, and tuition reimbursement.
