Kubernetes Engineer
About The Position
The Platform Engineering organization at IMC Trading accelerates technology team workflows by providing self-service tools, services, documentation, and support. It designs, builds, and maintains the runtime platforms on which IMC’s software applications depend. The team works globally to streamline development, establish a consistent technical foundation across regions, and bridge application-development requirements with the practical needs of deploying and maintaining software in production. The Kubernetes Engineer designs, implements, and manages on-premises Kubernetes clusters and containerized applications, supporting availability, performance, security, and resilience. The role collaborates with internal teams on CI/CD pipelines and develops automation to maintain consistent infrastructure across clusters.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of proven Kubernetes experience, particularly in on-premises environments.
- Strong knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies.
- Experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines.
- Solid understanding of security best practices in Kubernetes environments.
- Proficiency in automation scripting, such as Bash or Python.
- Familiarity with storage and networking concepts related to Kubernetes.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in a timely manner.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage on-premises Kubernetes clusters for high availability and performance.
- Deploy and manage containerized applications on Kubernetes using internal tooling.
- Collaborate with internal teams to design and implement CI/CD pipelines for on-premises environments.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize Kubernetes clusters for performance and reliability.
- Implement Kubernetes security practices, including RBAC, network policies, and secrets management.
- Develop automation scripts to manage infrastructure components and maintain consistent environments across clusters.
- Maintain and optimize storage and networking configurations for Kubernetes clusters.
- Manage cluster upgrades, backups, and disaster recovery plans.
- Stay up to date with Kubernetes developments and on-premises infrastructure practices and apply relevant updates.
