About The Position

The College of Professional Studies at Northeastern University is seeking a full-time faculty member for its MS in Organizational Leadership and Corporate and Organizational Communication degree programs. The ideal candidate will possess a strong academic background and significant industry experience as a practitioner in organizational leadership, corporate strategy, or organizational communication. This is an open rank, non-tenure track, renewable appointment located in Boston, MA, focused on contributing to innovative programs in leadership development, organizational effectiveness, communication, and community engagement.

Requirements

  • Terminal degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) in Organizational Leadership, Organizational Studies, Communication, Management or a closely related discipline by appointment start date or later.
  • Evidence demonstrating a history of professional practice and engagement in the field.
  • Substantial industry experience in organizational leadership, corporate communication, or community-focused organizational practice, preferably at a senior or executive level, with demonstrated ability to apply professional experience to teaching and learning.
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and diverse learning environment.
  • Experience in online or hybrid teaching modalities.
  • Experience with industry partnerships, consulting, or collaborations.
  • Must be prepared to work with global student populations.
  • Must have a curriculum vita, cover letter, and teaching statement.
  • Must provide names and contact information for at least three professional references.

Responsibilities

  • Teach a variety of graduate courses in MS in Organizational Leadership and/or Corporate and Organizational Communication degree programs.
  • Engage in curriculum development, program assessment, and the integration of emerging trends and practices into the academic offerings.
  • Mentor and advise students, guiding them in their academic and professional development.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with industry partners.
  • Serve on committees that support the mission of the program and the vision of the College and wider University.
  • Promote the discovery and dissemination of knowledge through scholarship, research, creative activity, and professional development.
  • Be available to students online and in person as needed.
  • Work with the program office on administrative issues and programmatic projects.
