About The Position

About the Opportunity: The College of Professional Studies at Northeastern University invites applicants for a full-time faculty position in Human Resources Management. We seek a dedicated and dynamic individual to contribute to our innovative and forward-thinking programs in the field of Human Resources Management. The successful candidate will have a strong academic background, demonstrated research expertise, and significant industry experience as a practitioner in Human Resources Management. The position is a full-time, open rank, non-tenure track, renewable appointment located in Boston, MA. Responsibilities: This full-time faculty member is expected to bring her/his intellectual and creative capacity to bear in advancement of the program, seeking to serve students by participating in a range of teaching and non-teaching activities that support the advancement of the program. They will teach a full teaching load spread throughout the year and will work with the program office on administrative issues and programmatic projects. Faculty enjoy a collegial work environment that allows for work-life balance and are expected to be available to students online and in person as needed. Requirements

• Terminal degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) in Management, Psychology, or a closely related discipline within Human Resources Management by appointment start date.
• Demonstrated record of scholarly achievement and professional engagement, including publications in reputable, peer-reviewed academic journals.
• Significant professional experience in Human Resources Management or a related field, ideally at the senior or executive level, with the ability to integrate industry insights into teaching.
• Dedication to promoting an inclusive, equitable, and diverse academic environment.
• Experience teaching in online or hybrid learning formats.
• Proven involvement in industry partnerships, consulting projects, or collaborative initiatives.
• This is a non-tenure track, annually renewable position.
• This position requires a flexible work schedule that includes being present on the Boston campus, required evening hours and the possibility of weekend hours.
• Travel to the University’s other campuses may be required.

Responsibilities

• Teach a variety of graduate courses in Human Resources Management, including but not limited to topics such as talent acquisition, organizational development, compensation and benefits, employee relations, and strategic HR management.
• Engage in curriculum development, program assessment, and the integration of emerging HR trends and practices into academic offerings.
• Oversee the instruction of specific courses within the curriculum. Responsibilities include supporting the CPS Operations in the selection of part-time instructors, advising on syllabi, and evaluating part-time instructor performance.
• Mentor and advise students, guiding them in their academic and professional development.
• Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with industry partners, staying current on the latest HR trends and best practices.
• Create professional development opportunities for full and part-time faculty in the unit.
• Serve on committees that support the mission of the program and the vision of the College and wider University.
• Promote the discovery and dissemination of knowledge through scholarship, research, creative activity, and professional development.
• Faculty must demonstrate ongoing, substantive academic and/or professional engagement to ensure currency and relevancy within their field and to contribute to the institution’s mission, consistent with AACSB Standard.
• In addition to supporting the campus, occasional travel may be required to the University’s global network of campuses. Examples of required travel include the annual CPS Graduation and Faculty Conference.
