Required Qualifications For All Ranks: A Ph.D. in Geography, Geography Education, Environmental Education, Social Studies Education or a closely related field by the time of appointment. At the Assistant Professor Level: A demonstrated or potential record of peer-reviewed publications in geography education. Demonstrated potential to develop a productive research agenda. Demonstrated potential to secure external funding. Demonstrated potential to teach courses at undergraduate and graduate levels on topics including curriculum, instructional design, and professional development in geography or closely related fields. At the Associate Professor Level: A record of peer-reviewed publications in geography education that is commensurate with an associate professor in the department. A record of securing external research funding that is commensurate with an associate professor in the department. A record of teaching courses at undergraduate and graduate levels on topics including curriculum, instructional design, and professional development in geography or closely related fields. A record of advising graduate students that is commensurate with an associate professor in the department. At the Professor Level: An outstanding record of peer-reviewed publications in geography education that is commensurate with a full professor in the department. An outstanding record of securing external research funding that is commensurate with a full professor in the department. A record of teaching courses at undergraduate and graduate levels on topics including curriculum, instructional design, and professional development in geography or closely related fields. A record of advising doctoral students. Evidence of an established reputation and service in geography education.
