About The Position

The Department of Psychiatry at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine is seeking an open-rank, tenure-track faculty member for the Childhood Anxiety and Mood Disorders Program (CHAAMP). This role is crucial for CHAAMP's expansion, supported by the Foundation of Hope, which aids youth mental health research. CHAAMP is a multidisciplinary program focused on preventing, assessing, and treating anxiety and mood disorders in children, adolescents, and young adults. Faculty engage in diverse research, including neuroimaging and clinical trials, emphasizing team science, external funding, and community partnerships. The successful candidate will lead a funded research program focused on preventing and treating youth mental health issues, particularly in school-age children (K-8). Research interests may include risk factors for co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders, community-based participatory research, mental health in rural and underserved communities, and the development, evaluation, implementation, and dissemination of evidence-based prevention and intervention programs. The position offers significant opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration and innovation within CHAAMP, which has expertise in developmental cognitive neuroscience, clinical trials, prevention and implementation science, community-engaged research, digital technologies, and mobile health. The Foundation of Hope provides flexible philanthropic support for pilot data, new research, funding gaps, and protected scholarship time, aiding in securing federal funding. In addition to research leadership, the faculty member will mentor fellows, students, and staff, contributing to CHAAMP's training and development culture. CHAAMP is committed to an inclusive and supportive environment, with a history of assisting early-career investigators in securing awards. New faculty will receive individualized mentorship, internal grant support, and access to research infrastructure, partnerships, and recruitment resources. Requirements

• Open-rank, tenure-track faculty position.
• Research program focused on the prevention and treatment of youth mental health problems, particularly among school-age children (K-8).
• Expertise in one or more of the following areas: Comorbidity of substance use with anxiety and mood disorders, community-based participatory research, research with rural and/or historically underserved populations, development, implementation, and scaling of evidence-based prevention or intervention programs.
