Stanford Graduate School of Education is seeking outstanding applicants at any faculty rank for a social scientist or humanities scholar to study fundamental questions about the role of education in contemporary society. The position focuses on understanding education's role amidst rapid societal transformations, including demographic and geopolitical shifts, rising inequality, climate-induced disasters, and technological innovation. Applicants from various disciplinary and interdisciplinary backgrounds such as anthropology, economics, education, history, philosophy, political science, psychology, sociology, gender studies, or STS are welcome. The successful candidate will join a collaborative faculty community, engage in research, and teach and advise graduate students. The position requires a Ph.D./Ed.D. or enrollment in a program with anticipated degree conferral by the appointment date.
