The Department of Engineering in the Division of Engineering and Environmental invites applications for a tenure track position as Assistant/Associate Professor. The department seeks a candidate with teaching experience in industrial and systems engineering – specifically statistics and operations research, as well as the ability to supervise undergraduate student research. Candidates with backgrounds in all areas of industrial and systems engineering are encouraged to apply. Preference will be given to those with expertise in operations research, statistics, data analytics, and engineering management. Candidates should possess the ability to teach a variety of undergraduate engineering and industrial engineering classes, including Probability and statistics, Operations research, Engineering management, Engineering economy, and Data mining/analytics. Faculty members are expected to teach in the Methodist University engineering curriculum, mentor students, and participate in institutional service and the academic governance of the department, college, and university. Additionally, faculty members are encourage to develop and maintain research projects involving undergraduate students. We seek candidates whose teaching, research, and/or service has prepared them to address engineering in the context of social responsibility, support departmental efforts to improve student career readiness, and add to ongoing efforts to increase the preparation, retention, and persistence of students in STEM. Academic rank and salary are commensurate with level of education as well as professional and academic experience. Candidates should be interested in curriculum design and assessment.
