About The Position

The University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) is seeking an Open Rank Faculty member for the Department of Medicine, Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care, Sleep and Allergy. This is a full-time sleep medicine faculty position. The rank and promotion track will be commensurate with the applicant's experience. Requirements

• Medical degree or its foreign equivalent.
• Three years of Internal Medicine residency training completed in the United States.
• One year of Sleep fellowship training completed in the United States.
• Valid Illinois medical license or eligibility for an Illinois medical license.

Nice To Haves

• Pulmonary & Critical Care fellowship training is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient care on a full-time basis, no less than forty hours per week, to treat patients at the University of Illinois Hospital and Health Sciences System.
• Treat a medically underserved and diverse patient population.
• Conduct six half-day adult sleep medicine clinics.
• Interpret sleep studies generated by the clinics.
• Assist the Department to teach, train, and advise medical students, residents, and fellows in the fields of Internal Medicine, Sleep Medicine, and Pulmonary & Critical Care.
• Conduct medical science or medical education research, with mentorship, in the fields of Internal Medicine, Sleep Medicine, or Pulmonary & Critical Care.
• Assist with curriculum development.
• Perform university duties and administrative services as assigned.
• Participate in special projects as assigned.
