The Department of Radiation Medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina is recruiting for a faculty position with open academic ranking for a motivated radiation oncology physicist. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in all facets of our radiation oncology physics program, including clinical support, QA, teaching, clinical projects, and periodic support of our satellite sites. The Radiation Medicine Department at MUSC is dynamic and growing, with current clinical faculty staffing at the main campus including nine radiation oncologists and eight physicists, along with dosimetrists and dedicated IT support. The division of Medical Physics has a CAMPEP accredited radiation oncology physics residency program with two physics residents, and the department supports six medical residents. MUSC Radiation Medicine treats approximately 1700 patients per year and is the only program in South Carolina providing total body irradiation (TBI) and total skin electron treatment (TSET). MUSC is building a new, state-of-the-art, comprehensive cancer hospital on campus and is located in Charleston, SC.
