About The Position

The Division of Cardiology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is recruiting for an Open Rank, Fixed-Term, Tenure or Tenure Track or Variable Track Faculty appointment as an Electrophysiologist (EP) cardiologist. The successful candidate will have proficiency in the full range of EP procedures including device implantation, ablation, and cardiac re synchronization therapy. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with members of the Division of Cardiology and the Department of Medicine to facilitate services and achieve organizational objectives in program development while exceeding quality and customer service standards. Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively are essential.

Requirements

• Proficiency in the full range of EP procedures including device implantation, ablation, and cardiac re synchronization therapy
• Board Certified in Cardiovascular Disease
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in EP
• Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively

Nice To Haves

• Interest in attending on the inpatient service
• Track record in cardiovascular research (for protected research time)
• Possibility of obtaining a joint appointment in the McAllister Heart Institute (for those seeking a larger research focus)

Responsibilities

• Performing procedures in the EP laboratory
• Outpatient electrophysiology
• Teaching of cardiovascular fellows and EP fellows
• Attending on the inpatient service (optional)
• Protected research time (available for applicants with a track record in cardiovascular research)
• Facilitating services and achieving organizational objectives in program development while exceeding quality and customer service standards
