About The Position

Enrolment Services is seeking enrolled undergraduate students of McGill University to join their team for Open House events. The role involves creating a welcoming and informative atmosphere for prospective students and their families. Responsibilities include welcoming attendees, providing directions and information about event activities, sharing information about McGill and student life, assisting with seating for information sessions, supporting presenters, distributing materials, and helping with event logistics such as set-up and take-down. The role also includes maintaining volunteer break rooms and distributing lunch. The listed duties are representative and not exhaustive.

Requirements

• Must be an enrolled undergraduate student at McGill University.
• Must be authorized to work in Canada.
• Must be willing to work in the province of Quebec at the campus where the position is based.
• Proficiency in English at level #3 on a scale of 0-4 (verbal and written communication required).
• High School Diploma.
• Must be a team player with a positive attitude and a willingness to contribute to the team’s overall success in a fast-paced environment.
• Self-directed work habits, exhibiting initiative, drive, creativity, attention to detail, self-assurance, professionalism, and ability to meet strict deadlines.
• Analytical mind and excellent communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working in public relations, marketing, or higher education.

Responsibilities

• Welcoming prospective students and their families to McGill.
• Providing directions and information about event activities at Open House.
• Providing information about McGill and student life as needed.
• Assisting with seating guests at information sessions, assisting presenters and distributing material.
• Assisting with preparation of material and event logistics (includes set-up/take-down).
• Maintenance of volunteer break rooms and distribution of lunch.
