Adds carbide to generators as needed. Handles cylinders, Removes or replaces caps. Loads and unloads trailers; Uses the forklift. Empties overfilled cylinders and finishes filling underfilled ones. Returns acetylene from cylinders that did not take their charge properly, have too much residual gas, or are due for inspection via the drain ramps (to compressors and/or generator) when checking dates at the preparation scale. Removes empty cylinders from pallets and places and secures full cylinders on pallets.
  • Prepares empty cylinders for filling: Prepares empty cylinders for inspection or filling; visual inspection based on defect labels, weighing, sorting of customer-owned cylinders, acetonation as needed according to acetonation charts, replacement of self-adhesive labels. Ensures the conditioning of new acetylene cylinders as needed while following plant procedures.
  • Ensures cylinder filling: Connects cylinders to the manifold, opens their valves and manifold valves, adjusts water flow, checks pressures and temperatures during filling, and ensures the absence of leaks. Stops filling, closes valves and manifold valves. Performs manifold changeover. Weighs full cylinders, inscribes the corresponding volume on the sticker, checks the pressure and the absence of leaks at the cylinder and valve. Paints cylinders as needed. Ensures the filling of propylene cylinders when necessary. Prepares the filling of hydrogen trailers. Checks the test date and general condition; connects the hose, purges and fills the trailer based on residual gas; stops filling, records the pressure and checks for leaks.
