About The Position

Bird Civil et Mines is seeking qualified Heavy Equipment Operator (CCQ) to join their team. This role is for individuals looking to work on impactful projects within Canada's resource industries. Requirements

  • Must hold a CCQ competency card for the heavy equipment operator trade.
  • ASP Construction certification.
  • WHMIS 2015 certification.
  • Lockout and tag out training.
  • Knowledge of health, safety, and environment (HSE) requirements and standard practices in the construction sector.
  • Must be able to work on a 14-14 rotation system (round trip) on remote sites or in camps.
  • Must be able to work day and night shifts.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous work experience in a heavy civil mining environment.
  • Certificates on electrical line hazards, trenching, and excavations.
  • A valid driver's license or equivalent.
  • Team spirit and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Drive heavy equipment such as tractors, graders, and rollers in a heavy civil construction environment.
  • Perform pre-operational checks on equipment and ensure proper equipment maintenance.
  • Regular interaction with other construction equipment.
  • Exercise extreme caution and be aware of potential hazards to ensure site safety.
  • Responsible for the safe operation of equipment while adhering to industry and manufacturing standards in a productive work environment.
  • Participate in daily job hazard analysis and toolbox meetings.
  • Interpret verbal and non-verbal communications (hand signals) from others and act accordingly.
  • Perform other duties as required.
