Requirements

• Must hold a CCQ competency card for the Heavy Machinery Mechanic trade.
• WHMIS 2015 and Lockout/Tagout training are required.
• Familiarity with safety instrumented systems, My Komatsu, and Cummins computer applications.
• Team player with strong communication skills.
• Knowledge of health, safety, and environment (HSE) requirements and standard practices in the construction sector.
• Must be able to work on a 14-14 rotation system (fly-in/fly-out) on remote sites or in camps.
• Must be able to work day and night shifts.
• Pneumatic brake system (F endorsement).

Nice To Haves

• Construction Health and Safety Training (ASP Construction) or Construction Safety Training System (CSTS) training is an asset.
• Fall protection, electrical line hazard, and air brake approval training are assets.
• A valid driver's license would be an asset.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, maintain, and repair equipment in a heavy civil construction environment.
• Test repaired equipment to ensure proper functioning and compliance with manufacturer specifications.
• Regularly interact with other construction equipment.
• Ensure the safe operation of equipment while adhering to manufacturer and industry standards in a productive work environment.
• Participate in daily pre-work and toolbox meetings.
• Interpret verbal and non-verbal communications (hand signals) from others and act accordingly.
• Perform other duties as required.
