About The Position

UPMC Burke and Bradley Orthopedics is hiring a full-time Outpatient Nurse Coordinator to join their team in Aspinwall, PA! This is a Monday through Friday daylight role with the hours of 7:30am to 4pm, but hours also vary dependent on physician clinical hours. Responsibilities include patient triage calls, medication refills, scheduling of surgical procedures, authorizations of surgeries, assisting in clinic, injections, patient rooming, and any other RN tasks that may be deemed necessary. Purpose: The Outpatient Nurse Coordinator is a Registered Nurse is a member of the care delivery team. The Outpatient Nurse Coordinator is responsible for the care of the patient in a global view, accountable for multiple aspects of the patient care package even when patient contact is minimized. The Outpatient Nurse Coordinator uses independent judgment and continued communication with the patient, family, physician and community resources to assist the patient in attaining a measure of outpatient health. Requirements

Minimum 3 years nursing experience
Current licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse in practicing state.
CPR Certification
Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
Registered Nurse (RN)
Act 33 with renewal
Act 34 with renewal
Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
Current licensure either in the state where the facility is located or, if the facility is in a state covered by the multistate Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC) agreement, a multistate license issued by a participating NLC state. Hires and current employees working on an out-of-state NLC license who later change their residency to the state where the facility is also located will have 60 days upon changing their residency to apply for licensure within that state.

Triages patient situations and coordinates care with physician.
Assist physician with all aspects of patient care including assessment, evaluation and education.
Provides care for patients in a global, holistic method-responsibility for the patient is viewed in a continual manner, not simply at the time of office/procedural visit.
Accountable for outpatient treatment follow up necessary for patient to maintain health in between outpatient visits.
Serves as primary nursing resource to patient caseload.
Facilitates necessary services outside of the healthcare facility, interacts with homecare and other support services.
Develops and maintains productive working relationships internally and externally by demonstrating accountability for actions, enthusiasm, motivation and commitment to patients and colleagues.
