The OnSite Specialist role is a field-based position that utilizes a wide array of knowledge, technical skills, and critical thinking abilities to facilitate job functions during surgical procedures, as well as preoperative and postoperative equipment management. This role provides clinical surgical support by managing all relevant equipment, anticipating the needs of OR staff and surgeons, and troubleshooting/maintaining Stryker equipment and other related devices. The Specialist works collaboratively with surgeons, OR personnel, central processing, biomedical staff, and others. They are responsible for maintaining an up-to-date knowledge base of equipment and disposable products through Stryker education, providing information on new and current products, and accurately recording and reporting data metrics related to job functions. Maintaining up-to-date account information and completing all vendor credentialing are also key responsibilities. The role requires adherence to all Stryker and medical facility policies, standards, and procedures, including HIPAA and patient confidentiality. The Specialist must analyze and resolve product issues expediently, maintain a professional appearance and attitude, and provide support/coverage on all shifts at their assigned account, as well as potentially at other accounts in and outside their region. This may include on-call, overnight, and weekend shifts, and may require overnight travel. Assigned shifts can change without notice based on account/business needs, including rotating shifts. The position involves supporting minimally invasive surgical (MIS) and related procedures, ensuring optimal performance of Stryker and third-party equipment, and acting as a liaison between clinical teams, SPD, and Stryker service lines.
