The OnSite Specialist role is a field-based position that utilizes a wide array of knowledge, technical skills, and critical thinking abilities to facilitate job functions during surgical procedures, as well as preoperative and postoperative equipment management. This role provides clinical surgical support by managing all relevant equipment, anticipating the needs of OR staff and surgeons, and troubleshooting/maintaining Stryker equipment and other related devices. The Specialist works collaboratively with surgeons, OR personnel, central processing, biomedical staff, and others. They are responsible for maintaining an up-to-date knowledge base of equipment and disposable products through Stryker education, providing information on new and current products, and accurately recording and reporting data metrics related to job functions. Maintaining up-to-date account information and ensuring vendor credentialing are also key responsibilities. The role requires adherence to all Stryker and medical facility policies, standards, and procedures, including HIPAA and patient confidentiality. The Specialist must analyze and resolve product issues, maintain a professional appearance and attitude, and be able to explain and generate detailed guidelines and procedures. Support and coverage may be required on all shifts at the assigned account, as well as at other accounts in and outside the region, potentially including on-call, overnight, weekends, and overnight travel. Assigned shifts may change without notice based on account/business needs, including rotating shifts. The role involves supporting minimally invasive surgical (MIS) and related procedures, ensuring optimal performance of Stryker and third-party equipment, and bridging clinical teams, SPD, and Stryker service lines for smooth OR operations. This includes setting up equipment, confirming functionality, adjusting settings intraoperatively, troubleshooting, managing post-procedure breakdown, cleaning/disinfecting, restocking consumables, performing basic maintenance, and educating staff. Support for video conferencing, DICOM transfers, and EMR connectivity may also be required. Additionally, the role involves responsibilities within Sterile Processing Department (SPD) for reprocessing and managing surgical instrumentation, including decontamination, assembly, function testing, wrapping, containerizing, facilitating repairs, and tracking. High-level disinfection (HLD) and endoscope management are also part of the scope, involving transportation, reprocessing, HLD, documentation, and communication. Case cart and inventory management for surgical readiness, including picking, staging, documenting missing items, and ensuring availability, is also a core responsibility. An OnSite OR Liaison / Expanded Services Specialist function may also be required, serving as a point of contact for service issues, coordinating coverage, reporting, and supporting specialty service lines. The position may require COVID-19 vaccination depending on customer requirements.
