About The Position

Canon USA, a leader in technology, solutions, and services, is seeking an On-Site Field Service Technician. This role involves delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining Canon-supported products according to established service and parts standards. The technician will diagnose mechanical, software, network, and system failures, service and repair designated equipment, and maintain working knowledge across multiple product groups. The position requires meeting and exceeding customer expectations through efficient and responsive maintenance, accurate record-keeping, and providing guidance to less experienced technicians. The role also involves resolving escalated technical or customer service issues within assigned territories.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent experience required.
  • Basic understanding of internet environments.
  • Ability to successfully complete the 120-day introductory period and the PDIF (Printing and Digital Imaging Foundations) new-hire class.
  • Ability to travel (valid driver's license and acceptable driving record necessary).
  • Capable of functioning in a 24/7 environment, while performing shift work and on-call rotations.
  • Required to take all necessary steps to obtain security and/or other clearances required by customers to enter the customers’ premises.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds and be active more than 50 percent of the time (walking, standing, stooping/kneeling).
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • All applicants must reside in the United States at the time of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose basic mechanical, software, network, and system failures using established procedures.
  • Service and repair designated equipment to Canon standards and specifications.
  • Maintain working knowledge and aptitude across multiple product groups, including troubleshooting and diagnostics.
  • Meet and exceed customer expectations by providing efficient, responsive, and accurate field, shop, and on-site maintenance.
  • Accurately maintain all technical information, field service reports, expense reports, and Canon property assigned.
  • Provide guidance to less experienced technicians and manage technical information responsibly.
  • Resolve escalated technical or customer service issues as requested across assigned territories.
