This role is for a Workplace Engineer providing onsite IT support for end users and workplace technologies, with some network and datacenter smart hands activities. Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in IT support or a similar role
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience with technical troubleshooting
  • Driver’s License
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Applicants for employment in the US must have work authorization that does not now or in the future require sponsorship of a visa for employment authorization in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Support PCs, laptops, mobile devices, peripherals, and workplace equipment.
  • Assist with video conferencing systems, monitors, printers, phones, and projectors.
  • Install, set up, and maintain devices and standard software (Windows, Microsoft 365, iOS).
  • Troubleshoot basic hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
  • Provide friendly, customer-focused support to end users.
  • Support walkup IT desks or kiosks, when required.
  • Provide smart hands support for servers, network devices, and site equipment under remote guidance.
  • Assist with cabling, patching, and basic rack activities.
  • Support simple PDU connections following instructions.
  • Help with basic router and switch installations.
  • Assist with datacenter related tasks and backup activities.
  • Update asset and CMDB records.
  • Handle tickets and requests in ITSM systems.
  • Support inventory management and spare parts handling.
  • Perform device decommissioning and disk wipe tasks.
  • Follow technical documentation and procedures.
  • Share feedback to help improve processes and work closely with other teams and vendors.
  • Operate on a Hub and spoke model, providing onsite support to nearby sites within the same city.
  • This role requires 5 days a week on-site in Houston, TX.
