About The Position

The DivTel Engineering team is responsible for overseeing and controlling the State Network's operations. This involves using various Network Monitoring tools, such as SEIM tools and the Network Operations Center ticketing system. The Contractors Personnel shall work within DivTels Bureau of Engineering on Project tasks as assigned by the DivTel lead engineer.

Requirements

  • Have a bachelors degree in computer science, information systems, or another related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Have 3 to 5 years of IT work experience in infrastructure/network environments performing network engineering (hardware and/or software), design, planning, and implementation.
  • Pass a State of Florida criminal background screening in accordance with Section 19.
  • Possess excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of individuals, including, but not limited to, the following: executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
  • Possess excellent technical writing skills, including the ability to write complex reports, plans, and briefings, if required.
  • Possess strong organizational skills.
  • Understand Department requirements under Chapter 282, F.S.
  • Understand how to maintain the confidentiality of records in accordance with Chapter 119, F.S., and Department policy.

Responsibilities

  • Providing technical documentation of work performed in standard project team format.
  • Working on any connectivity, security, or DNS issues and requests that have been escalated by the vendor NOC.
  • Ensuring issues are identified, tracked, reported on, and resolved in a timely manner.
  • Monitoring and assisting in reporting issues with the network/system for greatest performance.
  • Providing timely updates and reports on the network's status to relevant stakeholders.
  • Providing assistance to ensure the security of deployed applications.
  • Monitoring the State Networks performance.
  • Providing assistance in coordinating network maintenance activities.
  • The Contractors staff may work on one or more projects as a Project team member, occasionally as a project team lead, and may be asked to coach more junior technical staff.
  • Able to communicate technical matters clearly in lay terms for full comprehension by non-technical users.
