About The Position

The primary responsibility of this Onsite IT Support Technician position is to provide on-site end-user support for technical incidents and service requests at the client site. The technician will manage issues from initial diagnosis through final resolution, ensuring an exceptional support experience while delivering professional and reliable services to a key client. This position is primarily responsible for providing dedicated technical support to a designated group of users within a corporate environment based in Lisle, Illinois. In addition, the technician will serve as a backup resource for the onsite VIP Support Technician in the Lisle office and provide secondary support coverage for the technician supporting the plant operations environment in East Chicago, Indiana. Regular travel to the East Chicago, IN location is required approximately one to two times per month for day trips. Mileage expenses exceeding the normal commute distance to the primary work location in Lisle, IL will be reimbursed in accordance with company policy. Occasional domestic travel, including overnight stays, may be required based on business needs.

Requirements

  • 3+ years relevant IT support experience (both remote and onsite)
  • Client facing experience required
  • Must have experience working in a Windows operating system environment
  • Ability to physically perform general office requirements. (Minimum of 30lbs +)
  • Travel to East Chicago, IN, a minimum of once a month is required. Mileage that is beyond the daily distance to the primary office will be reimbursed
  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Nice To Haves

  • Solid client service skills to include: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to provide clear, concise updates, documentation, and customer support in a professional manner.
  • A+ desktop or equivalent skill set is highly recommended; additional certifications for various hardware platforms may be required.
  • Ability to physically perform general office requirements.
  • Must be able to perform essential responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

  • Performs troubleshooting, parts replacement, systems upgrades, deployment and repair on desktops / notebooks. printers.
  • Manage the shipping, receiving, tracking, and inventory of laptop, desktop, and peripheral equipment, ensuring timely deployment and accurate asset records.
  • May respond to calls after normal business hours per leader instructions.
  • Identifies potential issues that could adversely impact end user experience and takes corrective action.
  • Update and resolve tickets in a timely manner to achieve Service Levels.
  • Be the secondary/back up support for VIP’s at the main office when the VIP technician is out of office.
