About The Position

This role is responsible for managing a specific technology area or customer group with limited risk and complexity, implementing changes and solutions to meet customer and organizational IT infrastructure needs. The role identifies and improves departmental methods, maintains proactive system administration, and interfaces with various operational functions. The role fosters a knowledge management culture through research and data analysis. The role also ensures the attainment of data center service level commitments while maintaining facility safety, integrity, and appearance.

Requirements

  • Four-year or Graduate Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.
  • Typically has 2-4 years of work experience, preferably in maintenance, quality, or a related field or an advanced degree with little or no work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes technical expertise to manage a technology area like server administration, technical security management, performance management or a customer group with limited risk and complexity.
  • Implements changes and solutions to fulfill customer requirements and meet the demands of the organization’s IT infrastructure within the realm of technical responsibility.
  • Identifies and conducts research on inefficiencies and inaccuracies in departmental methods and procedures, implementing improvements.
  • Establishes and maintains a proactive system administration program, encompassing system updates, patches, enhancements, log monitoring, and system hardening.
  • Proposes and agrees to interface with various management and operational functions, including change management, problem management, network management, release management, application development, and computer operations.
  • Directs the daily work activities of teams providing onsite services, customer access, pre-service checks, and pre-service preparations for employees.
  • Operates, monitors, measures, and ensures the attainment of data center service level commitments while maintaining facility safety, integrity, and appearance.
  • Establishes clear expectations with customers and/or internal businesses/end users, adhering to predefined parameters.
  • Develops conclusions, recommendations, and written reports, contributing proactively through research and data analysis support, and sharing knowledge to foster a knowledge management culture.
  • Works independently on moderate scope problems, applying professional expertise, exercising judgment, and resolving various issues by following company policies and procedures.
