About The Position

The Onsite Administrator Level I - Printer Technician provides onsite support for printers and multifunction devices. This role is responsible for basic troubleshooting, maintenance, and customer service to ensure printing equipment operates efficiently. The technician responds to service requests, diagnoses common issues, performs routine maintenance, and escalates complex problems when necessary.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/General Education Diploma (GED)/Higher Secondary education or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.
  • Typically has 2-4 years of work experience, preferably in maintenance, quality, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of computer hardware.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Good customer service and communication abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple service calls.

Responsibilities

  • Perform basic onsite troubleshooting of printers, copiers, and multifunction devices.
  • Diagnose and resolve common issues such as paper jams, print quality problems, connectivity issues, and error codes.
  • Replace consumables and maintenance items, including toner, drums, rollers, and maintenance kits.
  • Conduct routine preventive maintenance on printing equipment.
  • Install, configure, and test printers on networks and workstations.
  • Respond to service tickets and document work performed in the service management system.
  • Educate users on proper printer operation and basic troubleshooting techniques.
  • Maintain inventory of parts, supplies, and tools.
  • Escalate advanced hardware, software, or network issues to senior technicians or support teams.
  • Follow company safety procedures and customer site requirements.
