PT Online Teachers -High School
About The Position
Hudson Global Scholars is hiring part-time certified high school teachers with very early morning weekday and weekend availability. The role may involve asynchronous teacher-facilitated courses, live online instruction, or service as a bench or substitute teacher. Teachers support student learning and academic success in an assigned subject area by providing instruction, monitoring progress, delivering feedback, and building positive relationships with students and families in an online learning environment. Teachers may work with students in Catholic faith-based schools. A personal commitment to the Catholic faith is not required, but teachers are expected to demonstrate professionalism and respect for each school community’s beliefs and values. They may be asked to become familiar with essential Catholic teachings to support student relationships and classroom outcomes. This is a fully remote role. Teachers must have access to a PC or Mac (Chromebooks and tablets are not supported), a supported operating system and processor, at least 8 GB of RAM, reliable high-speed internet, and a mobile phone capable of receiving text messages.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Education or a relevant subject area.
- Prior classroom or instructional experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships in a virtual learning environment.
- Proficiency with learning management systems and educational technology.
- Ability to independently use required technology, including Microsoft Office, email, video conferencing platforms, and learning management systems.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to manage a high-volume asynchronous caseload consistently and responsively.
- Ability to use student performance data to inform instructional decisions.
- Access to a PC or Mac computer; Chromebooks and tablets are not supported.
- Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit) or macOS 10.13 or later.
- Intel Core i5 processor or equivalent, or Apple Silicon M1 or newer.
- Minimum 8 GB RAM; 16 GB recommended.
- Reliable high-speed internet connection.
- A mobile phone capable of receiving text messages.
Nice To Haves
- Master's degree.
- Active teaching certification or license in the applicable subject area.
- Experience teaching in an online or blended learning environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage an assigned caseload of students and monitor academic progress throughout the course lifecycle.
- Maintain consistent communication with students, parents, and school partners, including regular progress updates.
- Grade assignments and provide timely, constructive feedback.
- Deliver engaging live virtual instruction when assigned.
- Monitor student performance and implement appropriate academic interventions.
- Collaborate with instructional leaders and internal stakeholders to support student success.
- Maintain accurate student records and complete required administrative tasks.
- Participate in professional development, instructional observations, and feedback processes.
- Complete required training and compliance activities.
- Serve as a substitute or bench teacher when assigned.
