About The Position

The University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for Online Enrollment & Prior Learning Assessment Specialist, UNLV University Registrar - Operations [R0150438] ROLE of the POSITION The Online Enrollment & Prior Learning Assessment Specialist will play a central role in supporting UNLV’s efforts to grow its portfolio of online academic offerings and its strategic approach to increasing and serving a growing transfer student population. This position will support an increasing number of online students, both those who are exclusively online and those who are taking online classes, and implement university processes, procedures and policies relating to credit for prior learning – per state law, system policy, and UNLV policies and guidelines. The position will sit in the Graduation & Transfer Student Services unit of the Office of the Registrar with a dotted line to the Scheduling and Operations Team. In addition, the Specialist will cultivate internal partnerships with the Office of Online Education to manage enrollments in online class sections and programs and the Office of Admissions to identify prior learning-related initiatives that are aligned with UNLV’s strategic priorities and initiatives. The Specialist’s work will include monitoring enrollment in online class sections to ensure sufficient capacity both for students in fully online programs as well as for students who prefer online offerings. This work will involve implementing short-term “fixes” for current enrollments (e.g., setting aside seats for particular student populations on an ad hoc basis) as well as working with academic departments, schools, and colleges on planning for online enrollments in future semesters. Additionally, the Specialist will be tasked with reviewing, researching, and implementing prior learning and alternative credentialing options to expand educational access offered through non-traditional methods. The Specialist will work with Registrar leadership and academic departments to create opportunities for prior learning for prospective students. Finally, the Specialist will play a critical role in providing basic services to online students on a one-on-one basis but also taking a more strategic view on how the university can best support online students. Within the Offices of the Registrar and of Online Education, the Specialist will work closely with the Scheduling and Operations and the Front Desk teams, as well as with the Employer Benefits Program Manager, and with the Associate Vice Provost for Online Strategies. However, it is also expected that the Specialist develop and maintain relationships across campus with schedulers and other colleagues in colleges, schools, and other academic and administrative units. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA)
  • 3 – 5 Years of Related Professional Experience
  • Credentials must be obtained prior to the employment start date.
  • 3+ years of experience either in a student-serving role or in an academic administrative role.
