Ongoing Caregiver
About The Position

For over 30 years, we’ve helped individuals with disabilities and their families live with more independence and peace of mind—thanks to amazing caregivers like you. We are seeking a compassionate, reliable caregiver to support an individual (located in Denver, CO) who experiences periods of significant mental-health distress. Responsibilities include providing calm, consistent supervision; helping maintain routines and a safe environment; using de-escalation and coping strategies; and supporting communication with family and care providers.
Requirements
- Experience supporting people with complex mental-health needs.
- Ability to remain composed in high-stress situations.
- Respect for privacy and dignity.
- Comfort coordinating with mental-health professionals when needed.
- Big-hearted, reliable caregivers who bring empathy and a positive spirit.
- Great communicators and active listeners.
- Patient and physically able to assist with mobility and personal needs.
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, current insurance (for driving roles).
- Compassion and empathy for all PASCO clients.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Patience, understanding, and the ability to provide emotional support.
- Physical stamina and the ability to assist with mobility.
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable.
- Reliable transportation, valid driver's license and current auto insurance.
Nice To Haves
- Home Health experience highly preferred but not required.
- Previous caregiving experience is a plus, but not mandatory.
Responsibilities
- Provide calm, consistent supervision to an individual experiencing mental-health distress.
- Help maintain routines and a safe environment.
- Utilize de-escalation and coping strategies.
- Support communication with family and care providers.
- Brighten someone’s day with genuine companionship and support.
- Help with everyday activities: bathing, dressing, mobility, and exercise.
- Prepare meals, encourage hydration, and support health routines.
- Drive clients to appointments, errands, and outings (if needed).
- Keep homes organized and welcoming with light cleaning and laundry.
- Monitor well-being, follow care plans, and keep everyone informed.
- Provide a caring break for family members with respite care.
