About The Position

The Melrose Georgetown Hotel is seeking a One Touch Reservation Agent to handle reservations for the hotel, restaurant, and spa. This role involves using up-selling techniques to maximize revenue, managing room inventory according to the selling strategy, and processing changes and cancellations for group reservations. The agent will also prepare group guest lists, dispatch guest requests to appropriate departments, and ensure their completion. Additionally, the role requires efficiently operating the PBX system, answering calls within 3 rings, and educating guests about hotel amenities, services, and local entertainment options.

Requirements

  • Focus and maintain attention to tasks, and complete work assignments on time despite frequent interruptions.
  • High work ethic and self-initiative.
  • Ability to work in a standard office environment.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer (6-8 hours a day).
  • Frequent fine motor skills, use of hands and fingers for keyboarding/typing, utilizing a mouse or trackpad, writing, and operating office equipment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Visual ability to read from a computer screen and printed materials including close visual focus for extended periods and color differentiation (for certain roles).
  • Ability to hear and participate in conversations and meetings, use phone and/or headset.

Responsibilities

  • Make reservations for the hotel, restaurant, and spa, using up-selling techniques to maximize revenue.
  • Understand and follow the selling strategy for the hotel by knowing the status of room inventory to ensure reservations are accepted for the correct rates and dates.
  • Process all changes and cancellations for group reservations.
  • Prepare group guest lists prior to arrival.
  • Dispatch all guest requests using the designated program to the proper departments and follow up to ensure completion.
  • Efficiently operate PBX and accurately connect incoming calls in a professional and efficient manner, answering all calls within 3 rings.
  • Educate incoming guests of hotel amenities and services available to them during their stay.
  • Inform guests of the variety of entertainment and restaurant venues in the local community, offering value to their stay.
