About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to provide one-on-one support to students at Parkview Elementary School. The ideal candidate will assist in the educational development of students with diverse learning needs, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment. This part-time position requires a commitment to enhancing student engagement and promoting academic success.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in education or related field is preferred.
• Previous experience working with children, particularly in an educational setting, is desirable.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and staff.
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to support student learning and development.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Basic knowledge of instructional strategies and special education practices is a plus.
• Must pass background checks as required by school policies.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized support to students in academic subjects, ensuring understanding and mastery of material.
• Assist students with special needs in navigating daily classroom activities and routines.
• Collaborate with teachers to develop and implement personalized learning plans and strategies.
• Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents as needed.
• Encourage positive behavior and social skills development among students.
• Maintain a safe and supportive learning environment, addressing any issues that arise.
• Participate in training and professional development opportunities as required.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by school administration.
