About The Position
Empowerment Academy Charter School is seeking a paraprofessional to provide one-on-one support to a High School Student. This role involves assisting the student with basic instruction in reading, writing, math, and other educational activities as directed by the teacher. The paraprofessional will also offer help, breaks, and redirection as needed. This is a full-time position with a salary and benefits, starting immediately for the current academic year and beyond.
Requirements
- Completed 2 years of college (60 credits)
- Possess an Associate's or higher degree
- Strong communication skills
- Basic administrative skills
- Team player
- Maturity
- Strong work ethic
- A 'whatever-it-takes to help children' attitude
Nice To Haves
- Substitute Certificate
- BA degree
- Working towards a Bachelor's Degree
- Some teaching experience
- Experience with Autism Spectrum Disorder
Responsibilities
- Support a High School Student during basic instruction in reading, writing, math, and other educational related activities.
- Provide help, breaks, or redirection as needed.
- Collaborate with the teacher to support the student's educational progress.
