The Oncology Social Worker is an integral member of the healthcare team, providing comprehensive support and services to patients and their families. They play a vital role in promoting mental, emotional, and social well-being. The Clinical Social Worker is responsible for a range of duties, including conducting assessments, developing patient-centered care plans, facilitating resources, monitoring progress and evaluation, advocating for patients, actively listening to their concerns, respecting individuality, and building trust. This position will also spearhead philanthropic activities for Oncology in working with both external and internal type stakeholders such as Foundations, charities, community citizens, and OMH teammates. This position will also spearhead all Oncology specific volunteer type activities provided by and for the operations and benefit of Oncology services. This position will access and use resources that promote optimal, compliant care for all Oncology patients whether it be Distress Screening tools or Free/Reduced care platforms. This position must practice under appropriate supervision as defined by the North Carolina Social Work Certification and Licensure Board.
