As an Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) in our Outpatient Infusion Center, you will play a vital role in administering life-saving treatments, supporting patients through every stage of their cancer journey, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team committed to clinical excellence. Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Registered Nurse program.
- Current Connecticut RN license.
- BLS certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).
- Strong clinical assessment, communication, and critical-thinking skills.
Nice To Haves
- Oncology nursing experience in infusion, ambulatory, medical oncology, hematology, or acute care settings.
- OCN® certification or willingness to pursue certification.
- BSN preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of RN experience preferred.
- Experience administering chemotherapy and biotherapy preferred.
Responsibilities
- Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, blood products, and supportive infusion therapies in an outpatient setting.
- Assess, monitor, and educate oncology patients throughout treatment, ensuring safe and effective care delivery.
- Collaborate with oncologists, advanced practice providers, pharmacists, and support staff to develop individualized care plans.
- Monitor patients for treatment-related side effects and adverse reactions, providing timely interventions.
- Deliver compassionate patient and family education regarding treatment plans, symptom management, and survivorship resources.
- Maintain accurate documentation utilizing electronic medical record systems and clinical applications.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives that enhance patient safety, outcomes, and experience.
- Advocate for patients while fostering a culture of teamwork, respect, and excellence.
