Registered Nurse Oncology
About The Position
The Registered Nurse provides higher-level clinical support to the health care team and delivers nursing care to patients in accordance with established R.N. job standards, policies, and procedures. The role emphasizes patient-centered experiences through scholarly scientific inquiry, compassion for the human spirit and mind, patient and family advocacy and education, and collaboration with everyone involved in patient care. This is a full-time, 40-hour day-shift position, Monday through Friday. Trinity Health Of New England is collaborating with Dana-Farber Cancer Institute to strengthen and expand regional cancer care through access to clinical specialists, tumor boards, educational resources, and best practices.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited R.N. program.
- Current Connecticut R.N. license required.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Oncology experience preferred.
- Three or more years of RN experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the overall quality of nursing care through performance-improvement techniques that positively impact patient care.
- Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with colleagues, patients, and family members.
- Educate patients and family members to support a transparent understanding of the care being provided.
- Use computer-based applications, including E-MAR and clinical documentation, email, and standard applications such as Microsoft Office.
- Demonstrate problem-solving, conflict-resolution, and positive communication through teamwork.
- Provide nursing care in accordance with established R.N. job standards, policies, and procedures.
