About The Position

Reporting to the Manager of Oncology Pharmacy, the successful candidate will work in collaboration with the Oncology Team. Functions include preparation of chemotherapy, sterile & non-sterile preparations, inventory management, obtaining best possible medication lists from patients, refilling of automated dispensing cabinets, and extemporaneous preparations. Requirements

  • Licensed by OCP
  • Education obtained from an accredited Pharmacy technician program (CCAPP accredited = Canadian Council for Accreditation of Pharmacy Programs)
  • Canadian Association of Pharmacy Technicians
  • Demonstrated computer skills
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills, communication and teamwork
  • Demonstrated knowledge of aseptic techniques, pharmaceutical arithmetic, and pharmaceutical terminology
  • Demonstrated excellence in communication, both written and verbal
  • Demonstrated commitment to customer service and teamwork
  • Demonstrated individual leadership skills
  • Demonstrates understanding and complies with patient and staff safety policies and procedures that foster a safe and inclusive environment for all.
  • Commitment to providing an exceptional experience for staff and clients within a challenging and exciting health care environment.
  • Proven ability to attend work regularly as per the Attendance Support Policy.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in hospital Pharmacy preferred
  • Experience in handling of hazardous drugs preferred
  • Experience with aseptic technique preferred.
  • Experience with Clinical Trials preferred.

  • Demonstrates an understanding of sterile compounding procedures, safe handling of hazardous drugs, and the NAPRA standards.
