About The Position

Join the Hematology/Oncology team as a full-time Oncology Infusion Pharmacist, providing safe, high-quality care to patients throughout their cancer treatment journey. The pharmacist works directly with oncologists, advanced practice providers, infusion nurses, and other clinical team members to review and verify oncology treatment orders, support chemotherapy and infusion services, and serve as a medication resource for patients and the care team.

Requirements

• PharmD degree.
• Active North Carolina pharmacist license.
• Excellent clinical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• A collaborative, patient-centered approach to oncology care.

Nice To Haves

• Oncology or infusion pharmacy experience.
• PGY1/PGY2 oncology residency and/or BCOP certification; preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Review chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, biologic, and supportive-care orders.
• Verify dosing, laboratory values, treatment parameters, drug interactions, and medication safety.
• Support safe and timely preparation and dispensing of infusion medications.
• Provide real-time pharmacy support to providers and infusion nurses.
• Assist with medication education, adverse-effect management, and medication-safety initiatives.
• Help manage oncology medication inventory, shortages, biosimilars, and medication waste.
• Participate in quality improvement and development of safe oncology medication processes.
