Full-Time Oncology Infusion Nurse
About The Position
Beacon Clinic is hiring a full-time RN Infusion Nurse to provide patient-focused oncology nursing care in a clinic offering medical oncology and hematology, radiation oncology, rheumatology, and urology services. The role administers prescribed chemotherapy and biologic treatments under the direct supervision of a physician, along with hydration, iron treatments, and injections. The nurse monitors patients, supports adherence to oral chemotherapy, educates patients and families, and helps maintain timely infusion operations. Requirements
- Idaho RN License, required upon hire.
- CPR/BLS certification, required upon hire.
- ONS Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Provider Card, required upon hire or within 90 days of employment.
- Compassionate and caring bedside manner.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work extremely well in a group setting.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
Nice To Haves
- BSN preferred.
- OCN certification preferred.
- Infusion experience strongly preferred.
- Medical oncology and rheumatology terminology appreciated but not required.
Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate oncology nursing care to patients.
- Administer prescribed chemotherapy and biologic treatments in accordance with nursing standards and under the direct supervision of a physician.
- Administer prescribed hydration, iron treatments, and injections.
- Monitor patients and assist them in being compliant with oral chemotherapy.
- Educate and instruct patients and family members regarding medications and side effects.
- Access ports and PICC lines and start IVs.
- Oversee infusion schedules and maintain timely patient flow.
- Perform therapeutic phlebotomy.
