About The Position
The Oncology Infusion Nurse works in the Cancer Treatment Center Infusion unit, administering chemotherapy infusions, blood products, antineoplastics, and supportive therapies, primarily by intravenous methods. The nurse may also work in the lab, drawing labs from subcutaneous portacaths, disconnecting home infusion pumps, and changing central line dressings. Shifts are 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM, or 7:00 AM–3:30 PM.
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant nursing experience.
- ONS Chemotherapy/Biotherapy certification is necessary for infusion room placement.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in outpatient oncology infusion is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Administer chemotherapy infusions and supportive therapies to patients.
- Perform lab duties, including drawing blood from portacaths and changing central line dressings.
- Disconnect home infusion pumps.
- Provide safe and effective care for patients receiving treatment in infusion room and lab settings.
